Kyle Books signs new cookbook from Natasha MacAller

Kyle Books, part of the Octopus Publishing group, has acquired The Apothecary Chef by Natasha MacAller.

Publisher Joanna Copestick acquired world rights direct from the author. The book will be published in February 2026 in hardback.

"Featuring over 80 dishes including bespoke recipes from more than 30 worldwide award-winning chefs, The Apothecary Chef is a celebration of the fragrance, flavour and benefit that herbs and plants impart," the synopsis says. "With recipes ranging from root, rice, leek and nettle soup to an allium and wild-mushroom galette, plus peppermint panna cotta and a persimmon pudding cake, each dish includes several ‘hero’ ingredients that you can grow, forage or buy, alongside an illustrated directory of 60 edible plants and herbs, plus inspirational guidance to incorporate into your cooking."

The blurb adds: "Award-winning contributing chefs include Allan Altschul of The Newt, Nyesha Arrington, April Bloomfield, Pierre Koffmann, Peter Gordon, Olia Hercules, Sarah Johnson, Nancy Silverton, Roger Pizey of Fortnum & Mason, Ben Shewry, Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer of Honey & Co and Lee Westcott."

Before becoming a cookbook author, MacAller spent more than 25 years as a professional ballerina performing with New York’s Joffrey Ballet and Boston Ballet.

Copestick commented: "Natasha is an avid researcher and this book is a unique collection of recipes from not only some of the world’s best chefs but also Natasha’s own truly inventive, tasty and healthy recipes. It is the ultimate in cooking for health, flavour, well-being and longevity without compromising on the joy of food."

MacAller added: "The Apothecary Chef transports you on a worldwide adventure of edible and beneficial herbs and plants. The recipes within blend and swirl to create flavour packed nutritious dishes from around the world to share around your table."
